A division of the Francine A. LeFrak Foundation
This week, we stepped into a room filled with hope and resilience at the Francine A. LeFrak Wellness Center, at New Jersey Reentry Corporation (NJRC), talking with the women who received our first round of MicroGrants after coming home from the Edna Mahan Correctional Facility. Through the Same Sky Emergency MicroGrant Program, 48 women received the support they needed to rebuild their lives—helping them get their kids back, find safe housing, and access vital healthcare. Not a single woman has returned to prison. Zero recidivism. 100% success.
Now, we’re doubling our impact by matching up to $50,000 in donations. With your gift, we can provide more emergency MicroGrants and help even more women on their journey to self-sufficiency.
Your support can be that door-opener, the difference between starting over or falling through the cracks.
Your whole future can depend on one thing, that may not seem much to some people, but the Same Sky grant helped me with a bed, a roof over my head, and food on the table.
This grant changed my life. If I didn’t pay my court fines, I would have been back in jail. That’s not a place you want to be.
These women have a closed door, and we have the opportunity to open it for them. With this MicroGrant, they walk through that door and know that they have a future and a second chance in life.
